The IB has been implementing the "Good pedagogy, good education!" project in Kosovo since April 2022. The aim of the project is to improve the training of educators in Kosovo and Germany and to establish long-term cooperation with Kosovan educational institutions and IB schools in Berlin-Brandenburg. The project takes particular account of UN Sustainable Development Goals SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). It is financed by the project "Partnership Approaches for Development-Oriented Training and Labor Migration (PAM)" of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
In order to ensure a professional exchange and strengthen existing cooperation, several study trips to Kosovo and Germany took place. In September 2023 for example, representatives of Kosovan educational institutions visited daycare centers and university institutions in the field of early childhood education in Berlin and Brandenburg. Among other things, the program included getting to know the German educator training system.
The return visit to Kosovo took place in October 2023. German educators, teachers and kindergarten managers familiarized themselves in Pristina with the education system and approaches in the field of early childhood education in the country. A third study trip in November had the aim to initiate an exchange of educational staff from both countries in Berlin and Brandenburg. The guests from Kosovo were to gain concrete insights into the work and concepts of German daycare centers and youth facilities.
The project ended in December 2023, but the professional exchange and cooperation will continue in order to further improve educational and professional quality standards in both countries.
