The Realistic Map of Kosovo

In April 2022, the Internationaler Bund (IB) launched the project "Good pedagogy, good education!" in Kosovo. The aim of the project is to improve the education of the educator profession in Kosovo and to establish long-term cooperation with the University of Pristina, IB schools in Berlin and Brandenburg, and other German universities and technical colleges. The aim is to create a dialogue in which a constructive exchange about professional approaches, curricula and pedagogical concepts can take place. In the next step, the daycare centers and the children themselves will benefit from the improved training and the new pedagogical concepts.

Another goal is to advise kindergarten teachers in Kosovo who are interested in working in Germany and to prepare them for a possible migration. The support of the educators includes German language courses and intercultural counseling as well as the possibility to gain practical experience in IB day care centers in Germany. The project on behalf of the Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ)  is financed by the project "Partnership approaches for development-oriented training and labor migration (PAM)" of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH and supported by GIZ Kosovo.

The PAM project works across countries to support the quality of vocational training and improve the recognition of foreign vocational qualifications in Germany. It promotes and tests models for training and job mobility for trainees and skilled workers. To this end, the project works with companies, authorities, education partners and civil society in the partner country and in Germany. It also prepares for training or labor migration to Germany.

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development emphasizes that regular training and labor migration can advance sustainable development: It enhances skills and strengthens the workforce, cultural diversity, and investment. Through the transfer of skills, knowledge and financial resources, it helps to improve life in the countries of origin.
