It was with great sadness and sorrow that we learned of the news of the death of Mr. Friedrich Magirius. Mr. Magirius was long-time chairman of the council of our IB Foundation IB Polska in Poland, pastor of the Protestant Church, outstanding theologian, activist for the reconciliation of peoples and long-time friend of Krakow, an honorary citizen of the city.
He was above all a man of dialogue – he connected nations, religions and generations. He actively supported the Jewish-Christian agreement and Polish-German cooperation, especially among young people who always campaigned against intolerance and for humanity.
We express our deepest condolences to our families.
May his memory live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of working with him. His commitment and passion will remain in our memories as a role model.
