In November 2024, 13 Egyptian trainer in the energy/electronics sector participated in a four-week training program in Germany as part of the Skills4Trends project. The participants, from the Governorates of Menoufia, Cairo, Behaira, and Alexandria, attended the program, which was organized by the Internationaler Bund e.V. (IB) in collaboration with the Industrie- und Handelskammer Projektgesellschaft Ostbrandenburg (IHK-PG), the Alexandria Business Association (ABA), the Vocational Training and Employment Center (VTEC), and the Sadat City Investors Association (SCIA).
The program, which took place from November 4 to November 29, 2024, was organized by the Hessian State Office for Technology (HLFT) in Groß-Gerau, Germany. Participants engaged in a blend of technical and pedagogical modules, focusing on renewable energy, electrical engineering, and automation technology. Alongside hands-on training at HLFT, the program included several industry visits, such as:
Lucas-Nülle (Kerpen), where participants explored training systems for renewable energy
The Morbach Energy Landscape, offering insights into energy systems and renewable technologies
The Industry Institute for Vocational Training and Further Professional Education in Mainz eG, where electrical engineering and automation technologies were discussed
The Skills4Trends initiative is part of the Special Initiative on Training and Job Creation, which strives to enhance Egypt's vocational skills and create new employment opportunities within the renewable energy sector.
