The IB Supports the GDS Summit 2025 on Disability: Inclusive Approach for People with Disabilities

The GDS Summit 2025 offers key stakeholders in the disability sector a valuable opportunity to connect, exchange insights, and discuss challenges, opportunities, and future prospects. A crucial aspect of our work as IB is active participation in networks and collaboration with key stakeholders in the disability sector—locally, nationally, and internationally. We see the GDS Summit as an important platform for strengthening cooperation among key actors and sharing best practices from our work.

Since its foundation, IB has been committed to providing social services, with a particular focus on vulnerable groups. Across Germany, our Operational Units implement an inclusive approach to social service provision, ensuring that marginalized communities receive the support they need. This commitment reflects our broader social responsibility—to foster inclusivity and remove barriers for people in need. Through our Operational Units, we strive to ensure that persons with disabilities can live free from structural and technical obstacles while actively challenging social prejudices in society. We are committed to building a society where human rights are upheld for all.

A key focus of our work is supporting young people with disabilities. By offering tailored social services and vocational training opportunities, we facilitate their integration into society. In addition to professional training for occupational skills, we provide essential socio-pedagogical and psycho-social support. This comprehensive approach empowers young people with disabilities to build a secure future and achieve independent living.

"As IB, we remain true to the values that have guided us since our founding. We firmly believe that disability should not be seen as a limitation but as an enrichment of the fundamental principles of living in a democracy," says Thiemo Fojkar,, Chairman of the Board of the IB.

Our services for persons with disabilities extend across Germany, with around 70 locations ensuring our presence in nearly all major cities.
