At its General Assembly on November 6, 2025, held at the Representation of the State of Bremen in Berlin, the members of the Bundesverband der Träger beruflicher Bildung (BBB – Federal Association of Providers of Vocational Education and Training) elected a new Board of Directors.
At the helm for another three-year term is Thiemo Fojkar, Chairman of the Board of the Internationaler Bund (IB), who has been leading the BBB Board since 2012. He will continue to represent the BBB politically at both the federal and European levels together with his Board team.
Petra Densborn from the Christliches Jugenddorfwerk Deutschland (CJD) and Achim Albrecht from the Stiftung Grone-Schule were re-elected as Deputy Chairs. Both contribute diverse professional perspectives to the work of the Board.
In total, the Board consists of eleven members and currently represents more than 180 educational institutions across Germany, with a rapidly growing trend.
The composition of the Board reflects the diversity and expertise of the education sector, combining continuity with new impulses for the association’s future work. The Board members come from all areas of public-interest and private continuing education and represent both large educational organizations and specialized or regional providers. The BBB cooperates with numerous networks to further strengthen its political influence.
“We want to continue being a driving force in the German education landscape. For us, future-oriented education means being both digital and sustainable. It also requires stable funding so that good ideas do not fail. The state must also play its part in securing skilled workers for the German economy.” Thiemo Fojkar, Chairman of the BBB and of the Internationaler Bund (IB)
The BBB Annual Report 2024/25 has also just been published. It illustrates how the BBB fulfills its role as a representative body for the continuing education sector and contributes to shaping the political, structural, and professional framework conditions.
